National Debt Management is a 501c3 non profit organization. They were founded in May 2006 to promote financial stability in Michigan. They have been so successful in helping people get out of debt and stay out that they have raised enough funds to take their program nationwide.
The main thing that sets them apart from other organizations is that they are a non-profit. Other for profit companies have been criticized for sometimes taking advantage of people in debt. However with a non-profit like National Debt Management you get to talk to people who are only incentived to help you get out of debt.
National Debt Management (NDM) was founded in May 2006, to promote financial stability in the local community. In the last few years they began offering their fiscal responsibility program nationwide, giving access and education to a much larger population! The primary focus of NDM's outreach is to those struggling with overwhelming debt. NDM provides education for those who have a hard time affording their monthly debt payment.
NDM understands that debt management is not a complete solution for all individuals. Eliminating current debt does not prevent debt in the future. In order to help people stay out of debt their counselors help people develop personal tools to prevent future debt.

Settlement programs allow debtors to negotiate away a large portion of their debts. In certain instances, bankruptcy counseling may be a more helpful solution. If you do not qualify for a debt relief program, or cannot afford to make any payments to your creditors, you may want to consider bankruptcy as an option. Prior to the filing of any bankruptcy, you are required by law to complete a pre-bankruptcy counseling session (according to amendments made to the bankruptcy code in 2005). Additionally, you are highly encouraged to seek the advice of a qualified attorney.
